This unit covers the entering and working in confined spaces in resources and infrastructure industries. It includes planning and preparing for entry of confined spaces; entry and working in confined spaces, exiting confined spaces and cleaning up. The Gas testing unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to test the working atmosphere, using electronic test apparatus, to find out if it is safe for the proposed work.

Through the combination of theory and practical training, this course provides participants with the necessary knowledge and skills required to safely work in confined spaces as per AS/NZS 2865:2009.
